Ashley Day,
Food & Wine
Ashley Day is associate editorial director at Food & Wine, where she edits and assigns travel stories in addition to those on wine, beer, food and chefs. Before that, she directed travel and food content at USA TODAY, the Institute of Culinary Education and Chef & Restaurant magazine. True to the brand, Ashley will be joining us live from the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. @ashday
Jackie Caradonio,
AFAR, Robb Report + more
Jackie knows the travel-writing world from both sides of the assignment desk. In addition to editing credits at Robb Report and Departures, she has written and photographed for Condé Nast Traveler, Bloomberg Pursuits, AFAR, The New York Times, and Travel + Leisure. She now helps shape editorial projects for hotel and travel brands including Montage, Pendry, Exclusive Resorts, and NMG Network. She’ll talk about where sophisticated travel storytelling is being commissioned now — from magazines to hotel-brand publications to custom luxury content — and how freelancers can get a foot in the door. Plus: just, like, look at her Instagram account. It’s stunning. @jackiecaradonio
Chris Rovzar, Bloomberg Pursuits
Chris Rovzar is editor-at-large for Bloomberg Pursuits, where he covers luxury, travel, food, style, culture, real estate, cars, watches, and all the other ways people with money attempt to enjoy themselves. Before Bloomberg, he was digital editor at Vanity Fair and editor of New York Magazine’s award-winning Daily Intel. He’ll talk about what makes a travel story feel sharp, surprising, and Bloomberg-worthy — how to connect a destination to money, taste, access, culture, and the way affluent readers actually live and spend. What’s nice is that Bloomberg tends to pay better than most. Fun fact: Chris is a former Fulbright Fellow. @crovzar
Justin Paul, Virtuoso
Justin is a longtime editor (and my longtime travel fairy godfather) at Virtuoso, a premier luxury travel publication published bimonthly for a global audience of luxury travel agencies. It provides affluent and adventurous travelers with exclusive destination inspiration, hotel news, cruise highlights, and insider tips from top industry experts.
Degen Pener,
Four Seasons Magazine
Degen has spent his career inside some of the most interesting corners of media — entertainment, luxury, design, celebrity, culture, and travel. He and I first worked together nearly 30 years ago at Entertainment Weekly, and Degen went on to become editor-in-chief of Angeleno Magazine, a founding editor of The Hollywood Reporter weekly, and a culture editor and deputy editor at The Hollywood Reporter. Today, he edits Four Seasons Magazine and continues to work as an editor at The Hollywood Reporter, where he recently oversaw its travel issue (I wrote the cover story!). He’ll talk candidly about what editors are looking for now, how high-end travel stories get shaped, and how freelancers can think more broadly about where good travel writing lives — from glossy magazines to luxury brands and beyond. @degenpener
Jesse Ashlock,
T, Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler
Jesse most recently served as U.S. Editor and later Deputy Global Editorial Director at Condé Nast Traveler, where he guided daily operations, oversaw the U.S. edition of the global brand, and helped shape its editorial vision until departing in late 2025. Before that, he spent five years as executive editor of Travel + Leisure, steering the magazine’s day-to-day coverage and long-form storytelling. His career also includes key roles as Online Director of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Deputy Editor at Details, and senior editorial positions at Visionaire. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two children. @jesseashlock
